[July, 2022] A quick review of a sample...

...and not all old grain are good, some are simply very, very austere - too austere for my taste buds. There is nothing in this dram that I like, as simple as that.
    • Nose
      78 78
The colour is yellow gold and the nose offers a very austere profile which reminds me of an old dusty attic. There are no fruits at all (how should they survive in an attic over the years?), lots of dry grassy and some autumn floral notes and the rubber of an old inner tube. I stopped nosing here.
    • Taste
      72 72
The taste is completely different to the nose but not better, rather worse. It is perfumed (lavender) and bitter (both herbal and tannic) and very, very, very austere - hence rather unpleasant for my taste buds. Sorry, but I have to use the spittoon.
    • Finish
      73 73
The dram arrives warming with bitter-astringent and drying impressions from too much tannins and it is just marginal coating. The finish is rather short and a little sweeter but it still is more on the bitter-drying-astringent side. Water does not help either.
