Cereals, candied peels of orange & lemon, breakfast marmalade, I assume this is a bourbon cask but it is dark for a grain, could it be refill sherry as it certainly has a few characteristics?
Good mouthfeel, slightly sharp and acidic but the fruit bursts through and it is quality stewed fruits of all descriptions, but there is mango, a little peach and papaya to name but a few and there is a great spice note to follow that up.
Not the longest finish with peat making an appearance with the spices present until the end.
As grains go this is top drawer stuff and the reason it is so good is the balance, every taste compliments the others, nothing dominates.
A great creamy mouthfeel full of fruit, peat & cream and I forgot to mention honey & a touch of menthol.
Excellent, possibly the best grain I have tried.
