For me, this barrel belongs to the absolute top class. As if it were made for Port Charlotte. Every dram was an experience for me ...

Still extremely tasty. What more do you want?
    • Nose

Very meaty and yet sweet smoke. Herbs and seasoning. Cigar tobacco. Old leather. Barbecue notes. The sweetness that I always have at Bruichladdich lies above everything. Ripeness can be felt, so it doesn't look artificially overloaded.
Old attic alternates with musty basement. Absolute blow dive between the intense port barrel and the sweet smoke! After a while, the burned-off New Year's rocket is added.

Drier on the nose than the standard 10. There is now significantly more barrel influence.

A lot of strength, however, also due to the high alcohol content.

All in all overwhelming and nothing for every day!
    • Taste
      92 92
The mouth is immediately completely covered. The barrel prevails with dark fruits and acidic wine notes. Then the fruits become sweeter. In my imagination there are burnt strawberries. The oak also shows up and initiates the finish.
    • Finish
      93 93
Almost all impressions from the mouth remain for a long time. There is no slight bitterness. The mouth stays filled with smoke and other intense aromas.

      Even the next morning!
