Whisky Reviews for Dallas Dhu 1979 GM

3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.41 points

  1. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Yeah, nose is the best, finish clearly the worst, a bit of a shame, could have been 85-85.
    • Nose
Nice, rather dry bourbon nose, grated lemon peel, heather, dried flowers, orange peel, toffee, frosties cereals, green apple, a hint of white grapefruit later
    • Taste
Green apple, lots of heather, very dry, oat cookies, white grapefruit, lime peel, lemon grass, grapes, candle wax
    • Finish
Unfortunately a bit sticky finish, dry, heather grass, wax, short to medium length

    from a purchased sample
    • Nose
Lighter and very high pitch. Linseed oil, two or three daffodils, sweet
malt. Green pepper and some other green, vegetal notes, fairly
indistinct. Not much else going on.
    • Taste
About the same thing. The oak isn't heavy, but the rest of the profile
is so transparent that the oak shines through more than it should. And
then more green vegetables (peppers and bitter green asparagus raw)
along with just a touch of sweet barley.
    • Finish
Brief and unexceptional. You'll probably like this more if you're a fan
of those green vegetable notes. Even with that, just very little going
      on.

  3. Willie JJ scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    I miss Dallas Dhu
    • Nose
Buttered lemons, oranges, floral, but not too sweet.
    • Taste
Very floral on the palate, gentle sherbet, mint and boiled lemon sweets with a hint of barley sugar
    • Finish
Gentle spices, but not too much oak. A little peppery at the end.
