Whisky Reviews for Macduff 1997 V&M

- Tasting Notes: Nose: Much ripe apples and pears, which I have rarely seen as clearly seen, as is the case with this whisky. Serve with ripe lemons, powdered sugar, sweet, but also grapefruit and ginger. Honey on bread, lots of white chocolate, raisins and white wine. But still with a slight sharpness in the background.
Mouth: Short sweet but rather slender, in fact even a little salty, but can also be imagination, who knows ?! But then what becomes clear is citrus-like fruit, distinct vanilla but also with quickly onset herbal notes, as well as floral and earthy tones. The alcohol is fairly well integrated, strong but not intrusive.
Finish: Now surprisingly dry, even slightly astringent, unfortunately a bit bland and plant-like.
Conclusion: Unfortunately, he does not quite keep in the taste what he is willing to show in the aroma very nice. Otherwise pretty nice! https://whiskycuse.wordpress.com/
- yes - nice nose - nice clean, sweet, vanilla, on the palate a boring bourbon barrel - tastes after max 50 € Flora & Fauna Speysider - neither palate nor nose justify the completely overpriced price of currently 180 € - I would hardly worth 60 €
cooked pear, apple, vanilla kipper with icing sugar, oak with nutmeg, licorice, toasted cereals, clarified butter, lemon, very clean - very fine
Citrus, malt, toasted cereal, chalk, lemon peel, mint, grapefruit peel, tingles first and then becomes dry
Zion abrasion, slight bitterness, dusty oak, cereals
