  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 99 points Connoisseur

Pre-Brora Clynelish bottled at cask strength in 1969, so distilled at the end of the 1950's. One of the most famous bottlings of Edoardo Giaccone. In one word: spectacular! The best whisky I have ever tasted. Perfect whisky. Period.
    • Nose
Lots of juicy fruitiness of pears, pineapple and lime intermingled with awesome mineral notes of wet stones and chalk. Paraffin. Lemon jelly. I also got seaweed drying in the sun and dried crab shells. Spices of aniseed and camphor at the background.
    • Taste
Full and waxy mouth coating as I have never experienced. Followed by orange-rid and kiwi fruit. Gooseberries. Also tangerines and passion fruit. Lemon-curd. Custard and some cake mix. Later on sugared almonds and fresh cedar wood. It's delicious and complex at the same time. Very good!
    • Finish
Long and lingering with hints of clover honey and vanilla. Clove. A little ginger. Gentle mint at the end. Needless to say this whisky is perfectly balanced.
