A lot more refined compared to the current 10YO. The smokiness is not "in-your-face" like the modern young Laphroaigs, but a lot more elegant. The medicinal note is pretty subtle, which is nicely blended into some sort of sherry sweetness. Seashell, oyster plate, and nice coastal notes. The sherry notes becomes more prominent after a sip, more sweet chocolate note and cooking spices like curry powder and cinnamon. A very complex nose.

Unexpectedly fruity! Melon, peaches, Something the modern Laphroaig is lacking. Nice sweetness, licorice, and good smokiness. The mouth-feel is really nice. Sherry influence is pretty subtle, which works very well with the faint saltiness.

Pretty long and pretty dry, with saltiness, nuttiness, and faint smokiness. Slight bit of bitterness which is not a bad thing here, with lingering medicinal note.
