Nice sherry nose, toffee, ripe bananas, raisins, dates, a bit of fig jam, light note of spruce, a bit of furniture polish, peppermint, very light smoke, a bit of wax, some honey, sawdust, just the faintest sulphuric note. Really nice, overall.
Alcohol bite is noticeable, but manageable. Light burn, some black pepper, light smoke, nice cane sugar sweetness, fresh hay, some oak, lots of barley sugar, toffee, very light ginger. The texture is rich, oily. Very nice start. Second chew is a bit more powerful, a large dose of freshly cracked black pepper, it's thicker, some olive oil, and a clear sulphuric note, which I have noticed more in HP these past few years. More smoke, also wet rock minerality. Third chew is pushing it a bit, almost too aggressive bite, and it becomes very oily. More ginger and mint, it's very fresh. Definitely had development potential to become a big whisky. Also some steamed carrots showing up here, and more smoke.
Smoke dominates, steamed carrots, light sweet apple, banana skin, ginger, toffee, light note of coffee beans.
