What is Distilled at Ireland?

“Distilled at Ireland” (also seen on labels as “Distilled in Ireland”) is a neutral, origin-only phrasing used when the bottler does not disclose the producing distillery. Any such bottle must still comply with the Irish Whiskey Geographical Indication: mashed, distilled and matured on the island of Ireland; matured ≥3 years in wooden casks ≤700 L; bottled at ≥40% ABV; and limited to water and plain caramel colouring (E150a), with the correct Irish whiskey category shown on the label (i.e., Single Malt, Single Pot Still, Single Grain, Blended).

On Whiskybase, “Distilled at Ireland” is used as a brand label to group undisclosed-origin Irish releases from different bottlers so searching it returns a range of Irish bottlings rather than one proprietary brand.
