What is Unnamed Speyside?

“Unnamed Speyside” is bottler shorthand for whisky distilled at a Speyside distillery where the producer doesn’t disclose the site—often for contractual or labelling reasons. UK law/SWA guidance allow the regional GI “Speyside” to appear before the category only when all the spirit was distilled in Speyside, and the presentation must not mislead about the true distillery. (The guidance also notes Speyside sits within Highland, so such whiskies may legally be described as either Speyside or Highland.)

On Whiskybase, “Unnamed Speyside” is used as a brand label to group these undisclosed-origin releases—see examples from the Whiskybase Shop and numerous bottle entries. Searching under this brand returns a wide range of Speyside bottlings without naming the distillery.
