About Dumbarton

Dumbarton is a Scotch whisky brand named after the former Dumbarton Distillery in the Lowlands. Established in 1938 by Hiram Walker & Sons, the distillery primarily produced grain whisky for use in blends such as Ballantine’s. It was one of the largest grain distilleries in Scotland during its operation but ceased production in 2002 and was later demolished. Dumbarton-branded single grain bottlings are rare, mostly appearing through independent bottlers.
