About Dris:

I've been writing tasting notes and giving scores since 2013. My favourite distilleries include Springbank, Glenfarclas, Ben Nevis, Glentauchers, Laphroaig, Clynelish, Caol Ila and Bunnahabhain.

Here is a brief guide to my scoring:

96         : Haven't given a higher score yet...

95 - 94 : This is art!

93         : A truly special whisky. The taste will live on in my memory for years. 92+ whiskies demand solitude to get the most out of them.

92 - 91 : Dram for a special occasion, a treat! This is worth reaching into your pocket a bit deeper and you're not rushing to finish the bottle.

90 - 89 : Outstanding quality. I'm thinking about squirrelling away a backup bottle.

88        : A whisky you enjoy at any time. I'm glad to have an open bottle lying around.

87 - 86 : A fine sipper. Ideal for sharing with friends or for watching a movie.

85         : There is some thought behind it but the balance might not be right.

84 - 83 : Just okay. Nothing wrong with it, maybe a bit boring.

81 - 80 : This is really mediocre. An 80 point whisky roughly has equal positive features to its flaws.

79 - 77 : Generally these weren't ready to bottle. Think inactive casks, immature harsh spirit, finishes gone wrong... All in all not enjoyable.

76 - 71 :  Intended to be a mixer.

71 >      : Bad stuff. I see no chance for redemption.

61 >      : Not for human consumption. No positive aspect about it.

51 >      : Prision sentence for whoever bottled this abomination!

210.000 bottles milestone release

A new release for the 210.000 bottles milestone. We just passed the 210.000 registered bottles, which calls for a new whisky. We selected an M&H pomegranate wine cask, which matured at the dead sea (the lowest point on earth). It is a huge flavor bomb. However, with only 255 bottles available, you should not wait too long.
