About nallacam:

I came to the subject of whisky more or less by chance and can't say when, it must have been about 12 years ago (Spring 2020).

But what I can say for sure, the tasting in the community and the exchange connected with it, are the things I love the most and give me the most pleasure until today.

In this rather short time, in which I have been intensively involved with whisky, compared to the time since whisky was drunk, the market has changed rapidly. Demand is increasing, supply is growing, networks are expanding and more and more information reaches you...if you want it.

The Whiskybase is a wonderful archive of information, if you know how to read it. Points and prices are often far away from reality, but if you look at who these points and prices come from, you can work with them very well and they can be a very good guideline.

Most of my grading system is between 80 and 92 points. And I think for most people the 90 points are a line, if you cross that line it is a very good whisky and it is also very much to their taste. Among the 80 points there are whiskies that are forgotten after a short time, that have wrong notes or simply have no expression. The range between 80 and 89 points is probably the most difficult and least tangible. Especially here it is important for me to be able to estimate the person from whom the points come in this case.

My scores can be read as follows:

79 and below - Nothing I will remember

80-85 points - easy drinking, little complex, simple and good

86-89 points - quite complex and with recognizable character,

                           you can definitely drink again

90-91 points - very good whisky with high complexity, finds exactly the

the personal taste, you like to have more of that

                           as a sample

92+ points  -  Perfect from start to finish, extremely complex, you need

pen and paper to record all the aromas, with this

Whisky you can spend the whole evening with

Celebration of 170.000 bottles in Whiskybase

Growing the Whiskybase platform and going through our celebration moments each milestone, this time another 10.000 bottles added to Whiskybase. We managed to grow to 170.000 bottles and it is time to reveal a new bottle to our members. A 11-year-old Ledaig from a hogshead selected for Whiskybase members. Something for the peatheads. One to sip, not to flip!
