An extraordinary bottling! I don't think people realize how insane the price-performance ratio is here. Exceptional complexity. Exceptional peat. Balanced iodine. Exceptional funk. What more could you want?

    Value for money: Excellent!
Would I buy it again?: Absolutely yes!
    • Nose
A bit of cardboard, a bit of black pepper. Quite cheesy; raclette. Nice vanilla, plenty of earthiness and funk. Spoiled loquats and similar stonefruits. Very industrial; motor oil and grease. Burnt plastic. A slight iodine note, a slight caramel brittle. A hint of floral honey, ginger. A bit of an animalistic side; perhaps manure. There's also a bean-like side (on the funk side). Unripe almonds, fresh hazelnuts. A slight charcoal note. Grilled padron peppers. Over time, seashells, earthiness and clayiness. Ground meat and mushroom broth. A very enjoyable, complex, classic example of Campbeltown funk.
    • Taste
On the palate, it's similarly dirty; super earthy, dung, clay, ash, charcoal. Obvious malty; loaf bread and plain pilsen malt. Sweetness slightly above average. Quite intense, peat is strongly felt. Medium-high, if not high, body. Again, obvious meatiness. Cooked ground meat, black pepper. Horse aroma, white pepper. Light nutmeg. Vanilla perhaps, but it remains in the background. Green almonds, unroasted almonds. A slightly herbal undertone, perhaps bay leaf, fenugreek. Unroasted hazelnuts. A very slight lactic undertone; like in curdled milk or yogurt soups. Dried mint. A corky undertone. Dried porcini mushrooms. Shiitake mushrooms. An extremely complex palate. Very enjoyable; intense, but evolving without ever letting its youthful vibrancy become a flaw. Very good!
    • Finish
Peat lingers on the palate for a long time, with a slight saltiness and iodine. Quite intense, with a medium-long finish. Nice bread and malty notes again. Light green apple and dried red apple. Very little youthful bitterness at the end. An agave-like side, grey pepper. Lightly roasted sesame. An interesting jujube-like sweetness at the end, perhaps like oxidized red apple. The animalic side is evident here too. White pepper. A slight maraschino-like sweet note (?). A nice ash note at the end. Decaying yellow fruits. A very slight ginger-orange marmalade-like side. Very enjoyable, a highly complex finish.
