  1. Boletus did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

I was really looking forward to getting a sample of this malt and then something like this. There are some nice beginnings, but this constant sulphurous accompaniment is just annoying for my palate and doesn't allow me to enjoy it. It's a real shame!
    • Nose
A rich, sweet grape sweetness hits me from the glass and increases my anticipation, but something creeps out of its hiding place in the background and makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, it starts with a dried fig wreath just before the mummy stage and soon develops into a hot-rubbed ''Herlitz'' eraser (the blue side!), unlit match head, phew... this is going to be a difficult number, but I have to get through it now, I always manage to get to the pleasant side, red berries, lychee, raisins, dates, floral undertones, vanilla, but then the rubberized sulphur note spills over again and covers everything, contaminated oak
    • Taste
Toffee welcomes and leads to brittle preserving gum crumbs instead of a red carpet, behind it sour red berries, raspberry, currant, a little plum, shriveled sweet grapes, lychee, vanilla, brown sugar, dried figs, but I can't really enjoy the fruit aromas, as the match head and the eraser rub keep getting in the way and ultimately taking over, a little pepper, cinnamon, almonds
    • Finish
Medium length, the dry oak has a brittle rubber coating, bitten blackcurrant seeds and tannin-containing shell residues put the brakes on, black powder, bitter almond, dried figs, at the end a little more conciliatory, vanilla as well as raisins and plum wine with a hint of lychee and jasmine blossoms on toasted wood
