    N: Many different types of vanilla in different forms, all wrapped up with a cracked woody oakiness. Add water for a more straight forward vanilla wafer. With water, some milky toffee, coppery oak, a wood shed wth the remains of freshly sawn wood, burnt wood sap, a little popadom,... Improves big time, over time.

    T: Sharp and green with darker earthier green notes lurking underneath. Requires only a little water and that’s more like it. Continues in a balanced soft bitter-sour direction.

    F: Some controlled peppery lingerings on cinnamon, some fine pepper and the now obligatory vanilla.

    C: Thankfully this improved [moderately] from lowly beginnings.

    Initial price: 150£

    A deep, rich, sweet perfumed scent filled the room - ‘just like opening a woman’s vintage leather handbag’ and we were all very excited to see what we would find in it. Bourbon biscuits, custard creams, pear drops and white chocolate nutmeg truffles to name a few. On the palate we were greeted by a surprising crescendo of lively oak which in time moved on to a mixture of menthol cigarettes, honey-spiced oranges and mint chocolate macarons. Diluted, enticing aromas of butterscotch, orange peel, nutmeg and cinnamon, whilst to taste now silky smooth, soft spices interplayed perfectly with the slight bitterness of dark chocolate-covered macadamia nuts.
