About Littlemill

Littlemill was a Scotch whisky distillery located in Bowling, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, generally classed as a Lowland malt. It is often cited as the first licensed whisky distillery in Scotland and operated (intermittently) from the 18th to the late 20th century, but it was permanently closed in 1994 and dismantled after a fire in 2004.

Remaining casks of Littlemill whisky are now held by Loch Lomond Group, which issues occasional limited‑release bottles to preserve the distillery’s legacy.
