This Family Cask seems relatively restrained and closed. The filigree interwoven aromas rarely show their intense side, otherwise this bottling is extremely mild and gentle. Meekly, this old Glenfarclas invites you to sip by sip. A great bottling, I like it very much!

    • Nose
Creamy, medium-bright amber rests in the glass while velvety roasted aromas and hazelnuts powerfully lift from the glass. In raisins inlaid raisins play with delicate hazelnut flavors, the nose is currently relatively closed and restrained. Tart apricots and almonds come to light after a few minutes, slightly floral hints ending in a minimal hint of tobacco and meadow herbs. The alcohol is wonderfully mildly integrated, mirabelle plums and quinces show up for a moment, a touch of vanilla scurries past. Subtle sweetness and minimal fruit flavors play more mediocre, the nose is and remains restrained.
    • Taste
Sweet and creamy, the first sip flows over the tongue. Vanilla and caramel melt together before discreet wooden sharpness settles on the tongue. Hazelnuts and yellow fruits reappear, with milk chocolate and creamy toffee coming through. Raisins and a few drops of Rumtopf are soon again lightly peppered with peppery spiciness, cocoa powder and beeswax come into their own. A hint of citrus and fresh menthol stimulate the salivation, hazelnuts and old walnuts blur taste and aftertaste.
    • Finish
A nut mixture sticks to the palate, creamy fruit flavors and sweet milk chocolate swim under the tongue. Apricots and zests of orange peel give a sweet, tart contrast, spicy wood tones end in tart and slightly dry wood elements. The aftertaste sounds relatively quick and leaves tart fruit and wood flavors paired with sweet whole milk and toffee.
