The best of my three tasted Mackmyra so far. Slight deductions for the alcoholic note on the nose and the (too) dry finish, but otherwise really neat.

The first moment closed after pouring, so I give him a few minutes time. Then still slightly alcoholic, with ripe fruit notes. A few cherries, red berries and strong spicy oak notes.

Strong, slightly dry onset. On the palate, a strong spiciness, coupled with a slightly "dirty" note, as you know from many Malts Springbank - only more subtle. The red fruits are here, now with a strong fruit sweetness. Shrunken fruit pulp?

Medium long, astringent. What remains is a dust-dry mouth, which is literally besieged by the tannins of the barrels. The Fruchtmus now rather in the background, but still there.
