This is a very pleasant contemporary who also undergoes an interesting development in the glass.

    Notes from a blind tasting.

The finish is really good, you would not blindly but in retrospective, it has had a positive impact. Also a nice example of the incredibly soft alcohol that Hazelburn brings. By the way, he lacks the certain boredom that is inherent in many Hazelburns, this one is really not one-dimensional.
    • Nose
      90 90
First of all, very mild on the nose, only a little lemon and something dirty are present, but after a few moments, but supplemented by ripe apples. After a little more life a completely different picture, breathing really does it very well! Burnt almonds, delicate smoke, some vanilla, light hint of stale white wine and light mineral notes, slightly dusty. With movement also malt and yeast. With warm juicy ripe pears are added, the smoke is much more present. Still no sign of alcohol in the nose.
    • Taste
      89 89
Very oily, almost tough, the alcohol comes with a time delay with pleasant pressure and without any pungency, the taste is mineral and slightly dark sweet with clear tannins right at the front. Fruitiness is not visible to me, but the roasted almonds go well with some beet syrup. In the second sip also slightly sour white wine notes, not strong enough to disturb.
    • Finish
      89 89
The finish is medium long and begins already with dark sweet bitterness which then dries on. Mint easily stuns the mouth. Some ashes lie very gently on the tongue.
