With one sample you don't discover a lot of different levels and aromas, but you can still smell it for a very long time. Just like whisky should be at drinking strength. The 17 years and a good distillery are really fun here.

The first nose is relatively sweet and has a nice fruity sweetness of berries, a bit of coastal aroma and hardly any smoke. Subtle marzipan is in the foreground.
But the nose is extremely harmonious and round. The aromas are very balanced and that is the great strength of this really great nose.
The sherry and bourbon casks harmonize wonderfully with the distillate from Old Pulteney, everything seems very light and yet mature.
I really like the nose. -

The balanced beauty of the aromas continues on the palate.
But you can clearly taste that this is not a Singe Cask, but a standard diluted to drink strength.
The aromas are again in the direction of bright, red fruits, a bit of vanilla from the bourbon content, not a bit of tartaric acid, but a bit of licorice. -
The mouthfeel is pleasantly soft, but not too thin. A perfect whisky to enjoy and drink. Remains oily and almost long with a light film of salt on the palate.
