A few days ago I had a nice Irish whisky from Doris and from the bourbon cask (WB79410) with 90 points and a little too much wood. I really like this one too and it's very exciting because it doesn't offer the classic sherry aromas and is a bit unconventional, but at the same time offers a lot of quality. But he's not entirely flawless either.

90.5
Intense but at the same time mild nose with exciting aromas.
Not only the classic sherry aromas, but also slightly sour red fruits.
Great balance of distillate, cask influence and wood.
Slightly dusty aromas in the background.
Has something of the mild sherry whiskys from the 70s.
In addition, the ripe barley sugar from the distillate and some vanilla in the background.

The palate starts full-bodied with red fruits, red tartaric acid, again slightly sour aromas and not just a little wood. Again slightly dusty here.
That seems exciting here, but not quite harmonious. Nevertheless, this is clearly a pleasure and the quality is still very good.

The mouthfeel is intense and the distillate very good and oily. The finish is a bit too bitter and sour, but still pleasant and long.
