Linkwood 15-year-old GM

My rating is for a mini without the "5cl" in both corners on the label.

N: Smells like an oldish-skool’ G&M: dusty, oaky,  sweet and fruity [apples],….. with lots more besides - plum jam, passion fruits [flesh], raisin & ginger cake and rather Cognacy with s touch of Baileys and a heap of desirable dunnage/fungal notes.
T: Thats sharp!, and even at 40% its going to need more taming. With water its more sweet and less sharp but sadly its a little rough and peppery with cooking cognac shouting too loud.
F: Doesn’t change too much with lots of caramel at the finish, but with promising glimpses at the death that were so prominently positive on the nose.
C: Ive heard very good things regarding the older 70 proof bottlings. This newer 40% version: a lovely nose is all.
