Light to medium-bodied. One of the better ones out there in this price range in my opinion. The Lagavulin 16 strikes me as being a bit too much on the rough side (a bit under-matured for its own good to put it another way) for me to give it a higher rating, but then again I usually prefer older whiskies (something which is not the case for everyone). A great buy nonetheless.

Liquorice,
clean peat smoke, sweet malt, fruity tea, subtle oakiness and
'oak spices', some faint vanilla, salty sea, some iodine, lime,
old-fashioned candy shop, toffee and creamy notes, a very subtle and
pleasant 'dirty' and oily phenolic element is also present. -
Clean
and elegant peat smoke, sweet creaminess and some liquorice, salty sea/brine, a fruity
element, earthy notes (perhaps some unburnt peat), faint notes of
lime. -
Medium long - Clean
peat smoke, a touch of vanilla, brine, some subtle oak and 'oak
spices', cream, earthy notes and some bitterness toward the end.
