Tasted from a Glencairn glass. Tasted with and without water. This Bowmore is almost a bit too young for me. It still seems quite boisterous, and the fruity component that is usually so characteristic of Bowmore is somewhat lacking here, as everything, as I said, still seems rather unripe. With water, it becomes a bit more approachable and sweeter. I like it better that way.

On the nose, I get a very subtle note of quartz smoke, followed by rather unripe fruits like green banana, pineapple, and generally a kind of green, freshly cut fruit aroma. Very faint notes of herbs, seaweed, and something salty. I would describe it as mineral. Far in the background, there's also a hint of milk chocolate.
The alcohol is well integrated here.

On the palate, notes of espresso, unripe pineapple and banana follow, topped with a little honey, and here too I get some greenery and something maritime.
The alcohol causes a slight tingling sensation on the gums.

The finish is relatively long and leaves a warming sensation in the esophagus. Before that, however, there are still quite a few espresso notes, and here the quartz smoke note reappears, but this time somewhat stronger than on the nose and palate.
