What a piglet! This old Glenfarclas is an incredibly intense sherry bomb. While not dominating the most extreme sherry flavors, but the old and dignified sherry aroma gives the Glenfarclas a great spicy touch and special aroma! A fantastic whisky, I like it!
    • Nose
After pouring and panning, tough and oily streaks have formed on the glass wall. Long drops flow back into the glass in slow motion, the Glenfarclas gleams amber in the glass, mysterious and deep-dark. Dark sherry flavors float out of the Snifter Premium and blow in my direction. Dark, old berries and grapes are immediately mixed with spicy roasted aromas, almonds fall on dark and dried orange slices, raisins are doused with thick caramel. Toffee and a touch of fresh mint come to the fore, milk chocolate is umgarnt of fine leather flavor. Slowly, a spicy aroma sets in, a pinch of lovage wraps the piglet in a spicy cloud. Gradually, the dark berries and the orange aromas come back. The alcohol is harmonious and perfectly integrated, my salivation is now clearly noticeable ...
    • Taste
Creamy and mild, the Glenfarclas flows over the tongue. Suddenly the piglet explodes and a spicy sharpness burns on the tongue. Spicy wood elements jump up and down the palate, wooden sharpness sticks to the tongue. The intense spicy note returns and old orange slices mix with milk chocolate. Cherries fall into the chocolate, the milk chocolate becomes increasingly bitter and bitter. Dark chocolate melts in a sip of espresso, the cherry flavor becomes more intense. Tart wood tones and a hint of citrus give the Glenfarclas a tart and subtly bitter note. Old and dry wood flavors play with the fruity cherry and the dried orange slices.
    • Finish
Herb and dry, the departure begins. The fruity aroma of crunchy and dark chocolate still dominates, spicy and tart wood elements remind of the wooden sharpness. Spicy with dark sherry flavors floats the spirit of Glenfarclas on the palate and I hope that these aromas will never end. Slowly the wonderful flavors unfortunately sound out. After a few minutes, the palate suddenly fills with old walnut aroma and the spicy wood note suddenly returns. The finish gets a second air and exudes wonderful wood and dark fruit flavors. With old walnut flavor the finish sounds but then finally out.
