This is a really good sherry malt, which is what you would expect for €160. And it does that! It tastes really good, but doesn't deliver any more than a good 15Y sherry malt with a modern style. It's easy to drink (and not just flip). A bit restless and edgy towards the end, but a really nice sherry profile before that.
-
neat - still seems relatively closed, but you already have a decent sherry profile, dark chocolate, dark fruits, slightly winey, a little meaty, minimal soy sauce, it smells strong but not alcoholic, with a little more time cinnamon comes along, after the first sip it seems a little menthol-chocolatey
diluted - needs a lot of time to sort itself out after adding water, but then it becomes nice and sweet, brown sugar, rum pot, menthol, plum jam, a little raspberry, better!
-
pure - the 62.5% is tolerable, juicy, red fruits, delicate spices, very successful, pure sherry whisky, no more no less
diluted - nice modern sherry, juicy, cherries, slightly fermented wine notes, some peach, plums,
-
pure - long lasting, sherry board, fruity, juicy, delicate traces of age, good!
diluted - still quite long, less than before, juicy, but not very complex
