Like the Talisker D.E. 2022, this one, too, seems to be getting younger, but not necessarily that much worse.

Youngish, full-on fruity notes (pineapple, pear), some honeys and herbals and an extremely subdued sherry influence – previous editions were way heavier on the Oloroso, as I remember. Still, it seems they used good casks for this one: it's lively, has good presence and discernible character. Also, the smoke seems to be more clearly noticeable in this edition.

Good body at 43 percent. Huge on honey, with a creamy sweetness and just enough sherry / oak spice to balance it out. Very juicy, rich, and tasty, with an ashy peat smoke at the end to ring in the finish, much like a high-quality blend.

Here it has definitely lost a step, most likely due to the (presumably) younger age.
