An Aberlour from the time when NAS bottlings still saw active sherry casks; the whisky is inseparable from the cask influence and the strong wood harmonizes with the peppery young malt without seeming artificial.

Alcohol noticeable at first, after a few deep sips, young light cherry, solvent, light wood, walnut. With two drops of water it is fruitier, apricot added, fruits combine better with wood, salivation begins.

In the mouth, there is a lot of liquorice and licorice, it's crazy what kind of wood can be in a NAS like this. After the water, it's still astringent but with a full load of sherry, the fresh kind, stone cherry, lemon zest.

Pepper and juniper linger on the finish, very balanced with the sweetness.
