A very nice peated whisky that one would not necessarily locate blindly in Sweden: Islay would also be an option that is not too distant.

Freshly poured it doesn't seem as smoky as “heavily peated” suggests - but then, but then: a good broadside of warm peat smoke, underlaid with blackberries, blueberries, ripe grapes. Charred heather, bay leaves, juniper berries, thyme. It accelerates incredibly the longer it has time in the glass. Something sweet is lurking in the background, maybe Tropi Frutti fruit gums.

Very sweet start. With strength, as expected in view of 57.1%, but not a bit pointed or biting, just comfortably warming. What the nose suggests as Tropi Frutti background music hits the tongue at the beginning, in the flavors strawberry, raspberry and green apple. The fruity notes are well cushioned by the warm peat smoke. Dry, sunlit wood, deciduous forest floor in midsummer. A little white chocolate, with pepper and paprika spice.

Medium long, dry and spicy. The smoke persists, chips from freshly felled wood, coffee powder.
