For 5 years you get a more than solid Islay malt without missing notes, which is not a beast, but far from being honest. A decent smoker, very appealing aromas - this interesting blend of herbs should be emphasized above all - in the nose and on the palate. With his rawness, you could also call it a little dirty, he reminds me of Springbank. For a cozy barbecue evening, hopefully with friends again soon, exactly the right thing.
    • Nose
Oily legs run leisurely down the edge of the glass, the little beast in the glass has a light golden tone, not dissimilar to a white wine in the color.
Cold ashy smoke, lots of smoke. Charcoal smoke with mineral notes, as if the coals in the grill are already turning white. But the smell of smoke also goes towards burnt gauze bandages. Light lemon in the background. A little vanilla and a little resinous, like Greek retsina wine, could also be associated with a mixture of kitchen herbs and pine needles rubbed between the fingers. With a little time in the glass, the citrus-fruity aromas turn more to orange, the fruit becomes more ripe.
    • Taste
Creamy, oily mouthfeel. The smoke and peat are equally present. But a nice sweetie too. The vanilla as well as the herbs and the lemon from the smell are also immediately present in the taste. Then it goes on slightly tangy, peppery.
    • Finish
The ashy smoke is now drier. The herbs are still there. The lemon is now more of a bitter abrasion on the peel. Little bitterness through the barrels, this is where his youth is evident. In addition to the peat and smoke, which is now a bit reminiscent of engine oil, the beast from medium-long time is present in the finish.
