OK, it was surprisingly under-complex for the age, but very tasty. Sweet and vanilla like an old grain, just a little easier. Such a Canadian can be enjoyed side-by-side, but unfortunately it's not that cheap. Certainly one of the best Canadian I have had so far, but many bourbon, rye and scotch easily beat it

On the nose sweet grain notes, vanilla without end, maple syrup again and only a little oak, some pine resin. This extremely sweet nose never gets sticky or too much. Surprisingly simple for the ages, but nice.

In the mouth by the 50% a powerful start, which would be too limp with less alcohol. Perfectly integrated alcohol, no burning. Very sweet again, vanilla, maple syrup and surprisingly little bitterness for the ages. Again, despite the extreme sweetness, no sticky feeling.

The finish is a bit tart, woody, slightly resinous but above all extremely sweet and vanilla-heavy, only slightly cooling mint notes from the wood towards the end
