I approached this blend really impartially and even with anticipation. After all, my father-in-law loves such more exclusive JW's more than anything. Unfortunately, I have not found the fulfilling pleasure factor.

Even the nose is not entirely convincing: a somewhat ineffable mixture of fruits (figs, bananas) mixed with a little mint is led over a bridge of vanilla to an ashy smoke (if you smell it a little deeper and longer).

and then there are leather, honey and a light peat smoke. But any diffuse, inharmonious aftertaste (already noticeable in the nose) disturbs the composition.

The finish is then dry, very ashy.
And lo and behold: According to the quote in Whisky-Fox.de, JW himself should advise to cool the drip before drinking it, then the delicate notes of vanilla, honey, malt and dried fruit would be intensified. Where is there such a thing? The makers at JW do not seem to trust their creature very much themselves. But I've tried it: And indeed, the annoying undertones disappear, but at the same time a lot of the fruitiness fades into the background. Who is surprised when cooling down ...
