I can only judge this as it was, cask strength, not as good as I remember. The bottle I had was age statement, not sure about this, I don't think so. This was a sample courtesy of peatbogger.

This is a lot calmer than the Edradour I've just had, those dark fruits are a lot more subtle.
More boiled sweets this time or bullets as my fatha used to call them.
Some coffee and tobacco With hints of orange and sarsaparilla.

At 60% to me it is still palatable, the dryness and sweetness work well together. Saying that the sweetness does rise above it after a while.
In fact the more I sip it the sweeter it gets to almost brown sugar levels.
It has been a while since I bought a bottle of this and I can't remember it being this sweet.

The finish is long and you guessed it, sweet. Maybe water would have calmed it down but seen as it's a sample I chose not to.
