About Glen Albyn

Glen Albyn (1) 1846-55
Was actually opened 1844 but didn't produce until 1846. Burns in November 1849. Started again Februari 1850. Soon there after they were broke. For sale at 1855. Around 1866 it worked as a mill for a couple of years.
Glen Albyn (2) 1884-1983
A new distillery gets built on Glen Albyn (1) site to work as a distillery again in 1884. In 1885 six (?) washbacks, 4,640 gallons each. Two pot stills, 1,800 and 1,500 gallons. No real production before 1891? Closed during WWI. Had three washbacks of Pine. 1954 the floor-malting get replaced by a Saladin-box. The two pot stills gets steam-heated 1964. The malting ends 1980.
