Islay Blended Malt

“Islay Blended Malt” denotes the legal Blended Malt Scotch Whisky category paired with the protected locality Islay. The Islay place-name may appear only if every component malt was distilled on Islay; all Scotch rules still apply. The SWA’s labelling guidance explicitly permits using region/locality names on blends when all whiskies in the blend were distilled there. 

On Whiskybase, “Islay Blended Malt” is used as a brand label to group these origin-specific blended malts across bottlers. Searching under that brand surfaces a wide range of bottlings rather than one proprietary brand.
