Ardbeg is a single malt Scotch whisky brand produced at the Ardbeg Distillery on the south coast of Islay. Founded in 1815, the distillery is known for its heavily peated style, often showcasing intense smoke alongside maritime and herbal notes. After a period of closure in the 1980s and 1990s, Ardbeg was acquired by Glenmorangie Company (part of LVMH) in 1997 and revitalised, developing a cult following among peat enthusiasts. The brand’s core range is supplemented by limited editions and annual special releases.
