Dramtime is the whisky webshop of Slijterij Frans Muthert, purveyor to the royal household. Frans Muthert was founded in 1918 as a small grocery store in Musselkanaal, in the Northern part of the Netherlands. The assortment changed throughout the years focusing more and more on wines, champagnes and distilled spirits. Since the early 2000’s whisky becomes more of a focus and the assortment expands a lot.
In February 2013 Dramtime was founded as an online sales platform for the vast increasing whisky assortment. It also provided a name and platform to host tastings and festivals. In the meanwhile the assortment now includes over 2.000 whisky’s, over 500 rums and a wide range of other spirits which are also available in the store in Musselkanaal although not everything fits in the actual store anymore. In the same store we also have a wide range of open bottles to let you try and/or sample.
The whisky focus is, beside the distilleries, mainly on independent bottlers and ‘new world’ whisky’s. In addition we specialize in rum, cask matured genevers, cognac and Armagnac. As a part of Slijterij Frans Muthert we are an Ardbeg Embassy (since 2016), Chichibu Official Store (since 2019) and Douglas Laing Emporium store (since 2020).

For me: books you buy in a bookstore; CD's in a record shop, and whisky in a liquor store; preferably one with a wide range of IB's and OB's. Dramtime is such a shop and worth a visit; even if it took me approximately 2 hours to get there. Coffee? The first words of the owner when we got there. I had worse welcome words.
Dramtime is a nice shop with an excellent collection of both IB and OB whiskies. The friendly and knowledgeable owner had plenty of time for a conversation and advise, while his colleagues took care of other customers. And like in a good liquor store one can taste an occasional dram. This small tasting lead to 2 more bottles which we added to the already filled box of whisky which was waiting for us in their small warehouse.
With a smile on our face we left for home. Till the next time!
