Café de Ouwehoer

As kick-off for the Whiskybase Gathering 2019, I visited Café de Ouwehoer on Friday evening. From Maassilo, it takes only 20 minutes by foot to reach the location, and I recommend to visit the nearby foodhall if you haven't had dinner already.

The bar is nicely decorated and features a selection of about 150 malts. Not bad, but not mind-blowing either. They have only a few independent bottlings and pours were moderately priced. Seats are limited and the place got a bit crowded after a while. Music played in the background and the service was decent and professional.

I guess this bar is okay, but within the framework of the Whiskybase Gathering, my expectations were not quite met - but that was probably impossible...

Very nice cafe, with a good selection of single malts from Scotland and Japan. Lots of other bars and restaurants around as well. Close to the steamship SS Rotterdam. Definately worth a visit when you're around!

Cafe de Ouwehoer is a very nice decorated bar. They have a selection of around 70 whiskies and and 25 different beers.

The people who work there are very friendly.
