In Makom Balev we believe that the way to the perfect meal is strewn with delightful little details. A story behind every tree, a though behind each hidden path. Behind each unique chandelier, antique dresser or ornamental tile hides a green dream of one talented person, Haim Shestel, a landscape and garden designer by trade. He envisioned in 1995 a sprawling garden in the heart of Raanana that provides its visitors with ample shade, natural scenery and fresh vegetables and herbs picked every morning from the organic vegetable garden on their way to your plate.
A lot of water have trickled down the waterfalls of Makom Balev. The flowering garden has become the home to hundreds of birds and frogs and has filled with satisfied diners and joyful celebrators who keep coming back to enjoy a tasty and indulging rustic experience. In Makom Balev everything is cooked, roasted, baked and picked right on the spot. A large meat smoker spreads intoxicating aromas, the dishes are brimming with raw materials specifically chosen and a colorful and quaint soda stand is waiting to quench the thirst of the guests. The large menu offers gourmet dining alongside refreshing business meals and is suitable also for family meals, romantic encounters and special events for people who prefer to celebrate a little differently.
The spacious garden is home to a stone gallery equipped with a warm fireplace and the aroma of roasted chestnuts, a shaded garden engulfed with nature from all sides, a roofed winter garden dipped in greenery, an antique dining hall, a quiet inner courtyard for cooking workshops and an abundance of shaded inviting and secluded niches. The garden is opened for events on all weekdays. Anyone dreaming of a romantic wedding, a natural looking ‘Bar Mitzva’ celebration, a designed launch event or an unforgettable birthday party, is welcome to enter the garden gate and make a dream come true.
