  1. Boletus did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

To have such a tense mouthfeel after 21 years of maturation and at only 43% is quite an achievement. Add to that the perfumed, soapy tendencies and a strange plastic note in the smell and taste. Rather disgusting!
    • Nose
Light and quite unspectacular, mushy pear with the odd rotten spot, floury apples, honey, musty grain, almond stollen with powdered sugar, a spritty alcoholic odor reveals itself upon deeper sniffing, dry wood flour with a little toasty vanilla, a strange plastic note resonates like in brand new, cheap plastic toys
    • Taste
Soapy-perfumed opening, a mouthful of deodorant spray, then the mashed pear with the rotten spots and the overripe apples, musty barley, honey, also sharp and alcoholic in the mouth, plastic, boring, sucked-out oak, bitter hazelnut skin, wood dust, a little vanilla, white pepper
    • Finish
Fortunately rather short, peppery, mirabelle plum, honey, toasted oak with bitter woodiness, vanilla, deodorant spray, pear peel, almond cake, dry finish
