Complex, but not overwhelming. An excellent balance between oak flavors and intense port wine fruitiness. You have to like the slightly musty wood note, but it blends elegantly into the intense port note for my taste. The drop has a lot to offer and completely convinced me.
    • Nose
Old musty, yet spicy and fruity wood at the same time. Behind it hovers a very fruity, sour port note. You might think, an old wooden barn stands for years in Portweinregen and weathered, about that must smell.
After another few minutes, I mean a little caramel, a decent portion of spice (lovage), freshly sawn wood and mint. In general, the nose is relatively restrained, but very aromatic with a very pleasant acidity that lets me associate ripe oranges and sour cherries. The wood notes do not go in the strong harsh direction, but bring in with more thoughts of bitter almond flavor, dark chocolate, tobacco and leather.
    • Taste
Short fruity-sweet and you could have sipped on a port wine. But immediately after the dominant fruitiness, the age shows in the form of spicy, tingling oak flavors. Again with the association with old port wine-soaked wood. A little vanilla flashes from time to time, but can not completely prevail against the oaks and Portaromen. I hear my dark chocolate, old leather couch, tobacco flavors and a lot of oak spice. A very pleasant mouthfeel and the Port fruit acid and orange peel remain in the mouth for a very long time and give the whole spectrum of aromas a beautiful intense fruity-spicy component.
    • Finish
The finish is very long and at first still pleasantly tingling with a residual fruit and elegant and not really tart oak flavors. A cooling mouthfeel also lingers for a long time and is reminiscent of mint. A somewhat musty wooden character also occupies the middle of the tongue and remains, as all other flavors, felt eternal.
