Even if the term "Old School" sounds trite, I associate the same flavor profile as with this Glenfarclas with "Old School". Delicious, tasty, uncomplicated, no frills, just a good brandy in a good barrel ...
    • Nose
Radiant amber shines in the glass, many small "legs" stick to the glass wall of my Premium Snifter. A hint of dried fruit rises, zest from orange peel falls into caramel and dark toffee, hints of milk chocolate and cocoa dissolve. Apricots and raisins combine with a hint of old leather and dried tobacco, the fruity note increases noticeably. Old pears and apples, mandarins and peaches, plus a touch of vanilla and honey in combination with slightly spicy wood tones and minimal mint.
    • Taste
Fresh and fruity, the Glenfarclas flows relatively thinly through the palate and ends sharply on the tongue with a bitter wood tone. White pepper tickles the tongue and cheeks, hazelnuts mix with raisins and dates, a touch of leather ends in hints of dark chocolate and old walnuts. Apricots and peaches with raisins and green apple make their way over the tongue after the second sip, followed by caramelized sugar and sweet mandarins, shortly afterwards a pleasant spiciness sets in again and tickles the tongue. The saliva is stimulated, hazelnuts and spicy wood tones swim under the tongue, a touch of mint and menthol refreshes the palate.
    • Finish
Spicy wood sticks to the palate with abrasions from oranges, raisins and hints of wet leaves lie creamy on the tongue, toffee and caramel fade ... The aftertaste is long remembered and ends after what feels like an eternity with mint and light menthol. A hint of citrus fruit sticks to the palate ...
