A really good Mortlach, that appears to have been seasoned but successfully. Sweet sherry, very nutty, malty, creamy.

Very nice. So drinkable. Appears more like an 80s bottling than a 2000s.

This smells seasoned but different than the modern seasoning - I guess it's paxarette. Old port wine, sweet sherry, red fruits (including strawberries), dark chocolate, leather. Really sweetly sherried, also really nutty with pistachios, almonds, walnuts, etc. Touches of tropical fruits make appearances, as does a little smoke. Then it gets very malty with cereal grains. Really well balanced and I find it quite different from the usual sherried malts, be it old or modern.

Rich and sweet, creamy sherry. Red fruits, dried fruits, plums, pears, red grapes, very nice. Quite malty, a tiny bit of smoke, really nutty - lots of pistachio. Some leather, old port wine, toffee.

Nutty, sweet sherry. More graphite and leather now, and of course a great nuttiness. Red fruits, dried fruits. Touches of spice, liquorice, camphor, and menthol. Quite minty. A little short but great while it lasts.
