About Aberlour

A Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery founded by James Fleming in 1879 at the mouth of the Lour Burn. Draws water from St. Drostan’s Well and renowned for sherry‑cask matured expressions.

The distillery has been rebuild by James Flemming further up the Spey after a fire destroyed the original distillery.

An explosion in the malt mill causes a big fire.

No production during the World War I due to the lack of barley.
