About North British Distillery

North British Distillery is a grain whisky distillery in the Gorgie district of Edinburgh, Scotland. Founded in 1885 by blenders Andrew Usher, William Sanderson, and John M. Crabbie, it was created to secure a reliable grain spirit supply outside the Distillers Company. Today it operates as a joint venture between Diageo (75 percent) and the Edrington Group (25 percent), producing grain whisky and neutral grain spirit to feed multiple blended Scotch brands.
