About Glentauchers

Built in 1897 just outside Keith, Speyside, Glentauchers was founded by James Buchanan and W.P. Lowrie to supply Black & White, and later Ballantine’s. The distillery expanded in 1966 from two to six stills and paused production during the 1985-1992 downturn. Though most of its output continues to supply blends, occasional official bottlings—beginning with a 15-year-old in 2000—and various independent casks have offered a clearer look at its consistent Speyside style.
