About Glenburgie

Glenburgie, located near Alves in Speyside, has long played a quiet but central role in Scotch whisky blending, especially as a key component of Ballantine’s. Though it dates back to the early 1800s, the distillery underwent a full reconstruction in the 2000s, modernizing nearly all its equipment. In the mid-20th century, Glenburgie also housed experimental Lomond stills used to produce Glencraig—a now-discontinued single malt that occasionally appears in independent bottlings. While rarely seen as a standalone single malt, Glenburgie’s spirit continues to appear in select independent releases.
