What is Lowland?

Lowland is one of Scotch whisky’s five protected regions. A region/locality name may appear before the category only if all the whisky was distilled in that region; labels must still meet the core Scotch rules. The SWA’s guidance also notes regional naming constraints and clarifies the relationship between regions.

On Whiskybase, “Lowland” is used as a brand label to group origin-led releases from various bottlers. Searching that brand surfaces many listings rather than one proprietary line.
