About Strathclyde

Strathclyde is a single grain Scotch whisky brand produced at the Strathclyde distillery in Glasgow’s Gorbals district. Established in 1927 by Seager Evans & Co and now owned by Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Brothers, the distillery is Scotland’s largest grain whisky site and plays a central role in supplying continuous-column spirit for major blended Scotch brands. Although its output predominantly underpins blends, official single grain bottlings under the Strathclyde name have been released sporadically, showcasing the lighter, column-distilled character of Glasgow grain whisky. As the only remaining operational distillery in the city, Strathclyde reflects Glasgow’s historic importance in Scotland’s grain whisky production.
